Backing & Lane Prediction v1.0 is a mod for Euro Truck Simulator 2 that draws guide lines on the ground for reversing and for forward lane positioning. In reverse, two lines run from the rear corners of the trailer or the truck along the path it will actually take. The lines are real objects in the world, so they stay visible in every camera and in the mirrors. In a forward gear, a light transparent blue line follows the road from the middle of the front axle.
• Red lines cover the first 3 m, yellow reaches 8 m and green extends to 15 m, with ticks where the colours change.
• The lines follow actual wheel angles, including different steering locks, lift axles and multi-steer trucks.
• Any truck and trailer combination works, including DLC and mod vehicles, plus single, double and triple trailers with self-steering axles.
• The forward line is 25 m long at low speed and up to 40 m at highway speed, curving with the truck's real turn.
• Ctrl+Shift+F9 cycles through forward only, reverse only, both and hidden, and distances plus line height are adjustable in a settings file.
The mod supplies the line models while a separately installed plugin DLL draws them, and the project is open source under the MIT licence.
