MODHUB ("we", "our", "the site") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.
1. What data we collect
We collect the minimum data needed to operate the site:
- Account data — email, username, password (hashed with bcrypt). Required for login and mod uploads.
- Profile data — display name, avatar (optional), preferred language.
- Usage data — pages visited, clicks, downloads (via Google Analytics 4 with anonymized IP).
- Technical data — browser type, device, OS, anonymized IP address.
- Cookies — session ID, language preference, GA4 analytics cookies (you can opt out).
2. Why we collect it
- To provide the service (login, downloads, mod uploads)
- To prevent abuse, spam, and fraud
- To improve site performance and content (analytics)
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Third parties
We share data with these processors only when necessary:
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymized usage analytics (IP anonymization on)
- Google Ads — conversion tracking (only for users who arrived via paid campaigns)
- Hostinger — hosting provider (EU/USA data centers)
- Cloudflare (if used) — CDN and DDoS protection
We never sell your data. We never share with advertisers beyond aggregated metrics.
4. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access your data — request a copy
- Rectify inaccurate data — fix it from your profile, or contact us
- Erase your data — delete your account from profile settings, or email us
- Restrict processing — opt out of analytics
- Data portability — request export in machine-readable format
- Object to processing — withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority

5. Data retention
- Account data — until you delete your account
- Analytics data — 14 months (GA4 default)
- Server logs — 30 days
- Backups — up to 90 days
6. Cookies
We use:
- Essential cookies — session ID, language preference (cannot be disabled)
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics (you can opt out)
- Advertising cookies — Google Ads conversion (only if you arrived via paid ad)
7. Children's privacy
MODHUB is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "Updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be announced via email or homepage banner.
