1.61 Realistic Steering with Keyboard v3.1.21 for ATS

This mod, “Realistic Steering with Keyboard v3.1.21”, is made for American Truck Simulator and updated for version 1.61. It improves how your truck responds when steering with a keyboard, making inputs feel smoother, more natural, and easier to control.

The main goal is to reduce sudden steering movements that can cause instability, especially during faster cornering. With these changes, steering becomes more progressive and predictable, helping you hold a cleaner line through turns. If you use more realistic suspension setups, the benefit is even clearer: the truck tracks better without the “jerkiness” typical for keyboard control.

• Version support: 1.61.x
• Mod name: Realistic Steering with Keyboard v3.1.21
• Focus: realistic steering behavior on keyboard in ATS
• Key result: more controlled steering, fewer abrupt corrections
• Recommended starting value: Steering Sensitivity 0.75

For best results, place the mod at high priority in your Mod Manager, above other modifications. It’s designed to work with both default and modded trucks, without requiring truck-specific compatibility patches.
